Sick

Well, I haven't blogged for a long time. I was sick for the last THREE weeks! It was the worst cold I have ever had. The first week I had a sinus cold. I don't think that I have ever had one before, it was MISERABLE! Knock on wood I don't EVER EVER get one of those again, that was about Monday thru Saturday. By Sunday I was feeling quite a bit better, then came Monday. I woke up Monday and had a bad sore throat but I just kept telling myself it was just drainage from my cold. Finally but Wednesday I broke down and went to the doctor. By this point I could barely eat and I had NO energy. The doctor looked at my throat and said, "OH! That is DEFINITELY strep. That is a classic case of strep, but probably the worst I have ever seen!" At this point I am just so excited to get my antibiotics and get over it. Then the test results came back negative! He was shocked and I was disappointed. I ended up having some work done to check for mono and tonsillitis. These tests take up to a week to get the results! In the mean time they give me this mouth wash that is supposed to numb your throat, it is called rocky mountain mouthwash....what a joke. It tasted like gargling robutussin, awful! This was all before Memorial Day Weekend, so I knew I wouldn't hear back for a while.

Jeff, being the great husband he is, went and got me some magic medicine! haha, Ok, well, it might not be magic but it sure did work wonders. It is Tylenol Severe Congestion, you have to get it through your pharmacist. Anyway, to make a long story that really isn't that interesting short. The medicine worked wonders, I finally heard from the doctors office and they said it wasn't mono OR tonsillitis and in fact I have apparently already had mono! haha Who knew? All in all it has been a pretty awful couple of weeks. I being sick. I am happy to report that my leftover cold is finally leaving a couple of rolls of toilet paper later! :)

During it all we did get to see Jeff's cute sister Jen and her family! This was exciting since we haven't seen all of them since I think Christmas '06. They stopped by on their way to and from Utah. Thanks for visiting guys!!!

Well, sorry for the long random post full of complaints, but that is where I have been and hopefully it doesn't happen again! :)

Digital Scrapbooking!

Yay for digital scrapbooking! This is my first attempt and I was so proud of myself...not that it is the best thing in the world but that I actually figured it out! It took me....a while...but next time it won't be so hard! Yay! Any advice, ideas, words of wisdom from you digital scrapbookers out there would be wonderful! (Thanks to those who have already helped!)

I thought this would be better for the than regular scrapbooking because that just seems to stress me out...odd, I know but if I make a mistake the digital way I know I can fix it! :)

Go Cards!

So last Monday for FHE we went to the Rockies game because they were playing the Cardinals. I was a little worried to see how Morgan would do because she was pretty bad all day long. (We just took her to the doctor this Monday and found out she has an ear infection so I guess it was justified) Anyway, first off you can take food into their stadium which is AWESOME! So we hauled in our goods and got ready to watch to game. Jeff got us great seats, they were second row! We got there early and watched the players warm up and sign balls. Jeff saw someone semi-famous, he saw one of the sports anchors from The Mountain. So that was exciting. The game finally started and Morgan was LOVING it! She was loving everything! She sat patiently on my lap for the first four innings and just people watched. She even did well after that she was just a little more squirmy. It was so fun, and such perfect weather. I am excited to go to a FEW more games this summer! :)

Despite the look on Morgan's face she really did have a good time!

We went all out with RED! We also had a Cardinals tattoo that she was excited to wear!
GO CARDS!

Happy Mother's Day!

I was going to write this post a couple of days ago but I kept trying to get my thoughts in order. I mean how to you really put into words how you feel about your Mother? I know everyone thinks they have the best mom, but I know I do! In fact, I have TWO! My mom and my mother-in-law. :) The two of them are so differnt but somehow are both AMAZING!

My mom is the nicest, most patient, most giving person I know! I have always gotten along with my mom, in fact I can only remember her being mad at me once growing up and I deserved it! But, I never had that teen problem with my mom. She always knew everything and she still does! I have always appreciated my mom, but until I had Morgan I never realized how much she did for me and how much she loved me. I am so grateful for such a wonderful example in my life. If I can only be 10% of what she is I will be one lucky girl! Love you Mom!!!

My Mother-in-Law, Mom Lois, is one hard working cookie! Not just in the working world but in anything she does. She wants to make every moment special. I think she see just how short this life is and wants to make is as special and memorable as possible. She is a spiritual giant. She knows doctrine in and out and I love love love to sit and listen to her and learn something new every time! Love you Momma Sucher!

I think the most important thing that both of my Moms have accomplished is that they have both taught their children the importance of the gospel. Not just by teaching them the doctrine but living it in their lives everyday. I am so grateful for both of these beautiful women in my life and I hope I can live up to their examples. If I can my kids are going to be pretty lucky! :)

Now to Grandmas! (I am sorry, anyone who is bored can just stop reading, but I can't skip my Grandmas!)

My Mom's mom passed away when I was a freshman in high school. I was one of 62 grandkids! Because of SOO many grandkids I didn't get to know her as well as I wish I did but I remember that whenever she called she was always so sweet and she always knew what was going on in my life. Pretty impressive for being one of 62 grandkids!

My Dad's mom has always lived far away and we were only able to see her a few times a year. I just loved her crazy stories of her riding the bus, when she was a younger girl and her dating years! She has some great stories! She loves to have a good time wherever she goes!

Now, since I got married, I inherited some of the best Grandma's you can ask for that aren't blood related! Grandma Wirig and Grandma Sucher and taken me in like I was really one of their own grandkids. Not having my real grandma's close it was so fun for me to see Grandma's in motion! I LOVED every minute!

Grandma Wirig is so domestic! I mean that in a good way, this is how I want to be one day! She knows how to do everything! Cooking, sewing, crocheting...everything! The best part it she is willing to teach you anytime you want! I just wish I still lived in Utah to more take advantage of it!

Grandma Sucher is probably the most thoughtful person I have ever met! I don't know if I have ever had someone besides Grandma Sucher who has called me and said can I come babysit? I remember when Morgan was first born...I was a little overwhelmed and I was finishing school she called and asked if she could come and help me for a week! Just knowing someone was thinking about me and willing to sacrifice a whole week to come help me was one of the nicest things someone has done for me.

I think I am one of the luckiest people in the world when is comes to my Moms. I have been so blessed with a wonderful example of womanhood in my life. I wish everyone was so lucky! I could go on about all the other special women in my life but I will spare you and save it for another day! But thanks to all the special women in my life, sisters, sisters-in-law, friends, co-workers....I could go on but Heavenly Father has blessed me with these special ladies and I hope that my kids will be as lucky!

Random pictures

Morgan got this cute little outfit from her cousins in St. Louis and I forgot she had it. She found it in her bottom drawer and she had it on the rest of the day.

This is Morgans friend Sam who she loved playing with. He moved to California for the summer and every time we are on a walk she looks at me and says Sam? Sam? Poor thing, we can't wait for them to come back!

I was watching Sam one day while his parents were packing and they were playing on the patio and this is what I saw them doing. I didn't even pose them for the picture! How cute!!!

This is Morgan and her friend Ellie. Every Wednesday our husbands play softball and this night Morgan fell off the bleachers and ed her lip open. Ten minutes later Ellie did the same thing...poor things!

Sorry that I am always posting pictures of Morgan, but that is what my life consists of at the moment!

Garage Sales!

So about two weeks ago I saw that there was a garage sale close by so I decided to go. I found two arm chairs and they were only $20 for two and I got a huge roll of red microfiber fabric for $5 (I was planning on making pillows and a few other things with that!)! What a steal right? I only saw one of the chairs because the other was downstairs, the one I saw had a box on it and looked in decent condition so I thought why not?! The lady I bought them from said she got them recovered for about $40 a piece so I decided that wasn't to bad and I could live with the fabric for a while until I found something else I liked. Well, when we got them home they were covered in cat hair and they were dirty dirty dirty! Yuck! So after about two hours of cleaning all the hair off and getting them as clean as I possibly could I decided to call and upholstery shop, they gave me an estimate of $500-$600 a chair! haha I about died!!! I think that lady just wanted them out of her house! SO, I decided that I would try to do it myself. I figured if I screwed things up bad enough I was only out $25, $10 per chair plus the fabric I bought. So, here are the before and after pictures...

Not to shabby for my first time, granted it isn't the best but I was happy, and it will do until I really want to shell out some real cash for some nicer chairs! It used most of the red fabric I bought so I need to find some that matches or just do another fabric and put it in a different room. For now though I just want to get the feeling back in my finger tips but I think I just found a new hobby! :) Go garage sales!

Crazy Coloradans

Ok, I really don't think Coloradans is a word but that is ok. As some of you may or may not know I have started delivering newspapers. Nice huh! haha, there was a girl from my ward who had done it and we were at a play group and she was telling us all about it. You make about $800 - $1000 a month...the only downfall is that it is at 2:30 in the morning! haha But it only takes me about 2 1/2 hours to do it, so not to shabby. There is another gal from the ward who decided to do it too so it has been a fun/interesting adventure! (I am sure it will lead to many more interesting posts) Anyway, on to my story.

I was driving to work the other morning and I was stopped at a stop light and I look over at the car next to me and there was this LARGE black man sitting in a big nice orange colored hummer and he is waving and smiling at me, so I wave back and turn back to watch the light. Then I hear a honk and the man is rolling his window down. At this point I am thinking maybe something is wrong with my car, so I roll my window down. He yells over to me, "Hey! I am so and so (I don't remember his name, it was to early in the morning to remember much of anything. We will name him Joe) and I played for the Denver Bronco's for two years, now I play for Kansas City." Oh ok, and he feels the need to tell me this why? So I reply, "cool, go Bronco's." Joe then goes on, "what's your phone number?" haha, this guy is crazy!!! I just rolled out of bed and threw some clothes on, no make-up, hair is a rats nest and he is asking me for my number?! Either he is drunk and desperate or I must be a lot better looking than I think I am! haha so I just replied that, "Sorry, I am HAPPILY married." Joe says again, "come on what is your number?" To which I replied, "I am VERY happily married with a kid." Joe then says, "ya ya so I am." At this point I am just disgusted and I just said, "I am NOT giving you my number!" He then gives me a glare and ran through the red light.

What a bunch of crazy Coloradans! This and the crazy foot man?! I am not going to lie though it did make me feel pretty good. :) I then went to work and told a few fellow co-workers. One I work with asked me if I was going to tell Jeff (her husband is VERY jealous and she definitely wouldn't have told him) of course I was going to tell Jeff! I just told her, "heck yes I am, he is just going to say I still have game!" When I got home and Jeff woke up I told him my story and that is exactly what he said! haha I love Jeff!

SO, with this crazy job it has made me so grateful for all the blessings in my life. Do I NEED this job, not necessarily. It is nice to stock up our savings just in case we don't get our house rented out again. But, I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who provides for me and our family, who is driven to succeed, and who isn't a scumbag who asks for s numbers! Honestly I think this job may be not only to pad our savings account a little more, but for me to remember how blessed we really are and how grateful I am for the gospel in my life and for the good people it lets me associate with where ever we are!!!
